Meet Our Team
Seva Squad
At the heart of SevaTruck Foundation is a team of dedicated changemakers committed to nourishing bodies and uplifting communities. From strategy to service, every member of our team brings unique passion and purpose to our mission.
Sonny Kakar
“In 2003, Sonny Kakar founded and was the CEO of Sevatec, Inc., a national security technology firm focused on mission critical software solutions. Sonny led the strategic development, growth, and ultimate sale of Sevatec in 2020 to a private equity firm, which resold the combined entity in 2022 to IBM. While being the CEO of Sevatec, Sonny founded SevaTruck Foundation in 2016, a non-profit food truck that serves hot, nutritionally balanced vegetarian meals to Title 1 schools and underserved communities across the Maryland, Virginia and DC region. Currently, SevaTruck serves approximately 2,000 meals per week to communities most impacted by socio-economic disparities and the effects of poverty. Most recently, Sonny has launched an innovative co-working space concept called SevaSpaces. SevaSpaces focuses on building a learning and collaborative hybrid environment for the GovCon sector through access to expert speakers, shared services, business mentoring, and partnership opportunities across the ecosystem.”
